R.J. Gibbs

R.J. Gibbs, MS

R.J. Gibbs, MS, is graduate assistant working in SCVN and is PhD student in the Department of Kinesiology through the College of Education.  His primary advisor and chair of his dissertation committee is Joseph Carlson PhD. Other Committee members, include Joey C Eisenmann PhD, Daniel Gould, PhD, and Karin Pfieffer, PhD.  RJ’s dissertation will examine behaviors of young athletes with respect to nutrition, physical activity, and psycho-social behaviors.  His current roles as a graduate assistant are as a team leader for (S)Partners for Heart Health, graduate teaching  assistant for HNF 457 - Sports Nutrition, and a research assistant for Spartan Performance Center.
RJ earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 2006 and a master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2010.  He is currently a Health Educator and Program Coordinator for a school-based health promotion program called FITKids at Sparrow Hospital.
